These materials are individual expert opinions, not clinical studies or proof of an effect on sleep, cognition, brain activity, or autonomic function. The letters do not expand the device’s cleared indications for use; consult the user guide for those indications, warnings, and precautions.
Pharmacology · Pathophysiology
TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THE LETTER
Her letter examines a proposed trigeminal sensory pathway and related literature on the LC–NE system, cortical arousal, autonomic signaling, and hippocampal plasticity. It says direct clinical efficacy for mild cognitive impairment has not been established.
SELECTED BACKGROUND
Cerebrovascular disease · Vascular dementia · Functional neurology
TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THE LETTER
His clinical opinion discusses exploratory EEG and heart-rate variability observations and proposes further controlled research. The letter does not establish a direct effect on cognitive function.

SCIENCE / SOURCE NOTES
Research on SSP electrodes and other electrical-stimulation approaches can inform questions about the technology. These publications do not establish that the commercial ACHELESS SSP Black Edition produces a particular clinical, sleep, or neurological outcome.
A randomized, double-blind study enrolled 30 people with myogenous temporomandibular disorders. It compared a customized conductive silicone SSP electrode with a conventional suction electrode over four weeks.
What the abstract says: Both groups changed on some measured outcomes, but there was no statistically significant difference between groups after the intervention. The published abstract does not identify the commercial Black Edition as the tested device. A PTBRO-affiliated researcher is a coauthor.
READ THE JOURNAL RECORD (opens in a new tab)A 2016 bioRxiv preprint by Boasso and colleagues explored another transdermal electrical-stimulation approach. It was not a study of ACHELESS or its silicone SSP electrodes, and a preprint is not peer-reviewed evidence.
